This is the first of several extracts from the State of the City address I gave last March which I’ll be posting.
This one focuses on just how significant the Bay Area economy is as a result of how interconnected the region is with the rest of the world economically. The energy — personal, commercial, financial and otherwise — is a significant factor among the forces which define the environment in which San Carlos exists.
Defining the rules and regulations we want to live by must take those forces into account. We do not live in isolation, and, in fact, are a very small fish in a very large pond.
